The Miss University Scholarship Competition is sponsored annually by the Gertrude C. Ford Ole Miss Student Union and the Student Activities Association. The competition is an official preliminary for the Miss Mississippi and Miss America competitions.

Each candidate competes in the areas of interview, talent, on-stage interview/social impact pitch, and red carpet. The winner of the Miss University competition is awarded a $5,000 scholarship and represents the University throughout the year at speaking and entertainment engagements and will compete for the title of Miss Mississippi in Vicksburg, MS during the summer.

Previously five Miss University titleholders have won Miss Mississippi, and two have won Miss America.
